When you pick up you Bill Smith's unique Clambake-to-Go, you will need a vehicle with enough space to carry the kettles and equipment. What is enough space? That depends on the size of your Clambake-to-Go (CBGO). Our smallest CBGO is for six people. That would require space for a 20-pound propane tank and high speed burner AND a 12-quart kettle for Chowder plus the Clambake kettle which would be about 16-quart.
IF YOU BOOK A LARGER CBGO, the space requirement in your vehicle can grow exponentially. For a party of 15 or more, the space for the Clambake kettle alone is almost as much for all the other items together (see the photo). A smaller CBGO may fit into the EMPTY trunk of a MEDIUM-sized car or the back of a smaller SUV - provided they are not full of junk. DO NOT expect to put it into a sub-compact. MAKE SURE you have room for everything. A vehicle full of passengers and with everything but the kitchen sink in the trunk or cargo area is going to create difficulty when you try to load your CBGO!
BRING ALONG THE COOK! Your Clambake-to-Go is packaged ready to cook. If possible, you should bring the person who will do the cooking (mostly watching the pot steam) with you. That way, we can be sure the instructions are properly given and your wonderful clambake properly cooked for the enjoyment of you and your guests. If this is not possible, the person picking up the clambake should make sure he or she understands the simple instructions completely and can relay them to the cook.
THE KETTLES ARE HEAVY! Whoever comes to pick up your CBGO should be strong enough to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
PICK UP TIME IS BETWEEN 3:30 AND 4 PM UNLESS YOU HAVE MADE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS.
Unscheduled late pickup may be subject to a $25 overtime labor charge.
